A Salsa Fiesta in New Mexico wouldn't be complete without a salsa dip cooking competition. This contest showcases the best salsa recipes from non-professional cooks in the region.
1 – 4 p.m. Preparation and Presentation
4 – 6:30 p.m. Public Tasting and Voting ($5.00 to Taste and Vote)
All of the votes will be counted at 6:30 p.m. and the winners will be announced at the Gazebo!
The Salsa music will start at 1 p.m. and will come from every direction in Old Town throughout the day. In the evening enjoy the lively and energetic sounds of La Excelencia
as it creates the rhythm and beats for a fun evening of hot music and even hotter dancing.
Salsa music will be presented in the smaller patios throughout Old Town with the Gazebo acting as a central meeting point for the bands.

Best known as 'The New Generation of Salsa Dura,' La Excelencia
brings modern vitality and social consciousness to the salsa genre, taking their bold sounds to salsa dancers and fans around the world.
Founded in 2005 by percussionists José Vázquez-Cofresí and Julián Silva, La Excelencia boasts an 11-piece orchestra with music full of powerful arrangements, free flowing brass and hard-driving percussion.
